My daughter, Kate will be 16 years old tomorrow. Tonight she is going out to dinner with an 18 year old boy, but she won't admit it is her first official date. On Sunday she starts her first job at Oakville Groceries in Healdsburg. She will get her license to drive on Monday. Trouble will follow. Our concrete in front of our new building was poured today which will be in time for a lot of action next Friday. We plan to move all the 1999 wine from last year and all the empty bottles for this year into this new storage building. Also on Friday the garage doors and night air fan will be working. Of course that will be needed in able to store wine at reasonable temperatures. The sheetrock will be fire taped by then also. On that day we will take delivery of our upstairs kitchen cabinets, also to be stored downstairs for now. The temperatures have been very warm this week, hitting a high of 108 on Wednesday. The nights had been warm also only getting down to the high 60's. Finally on Thursday morning and last night we did get down to the mid 50's. Our normal high is 90+ and 50 low. Many farmers and winemakers are worried that the quality of the grapes will suffer with such hot weather. BUT remember they have to have something to use in order to encourage our prices to go up. I suspect we will be back in the 40's in the next few days with highs in the upper 80's. Starband is continuing to be a problem. I really can't recommend it
yet unless you do a lot of downloading. Right now they are having problems
so I am on my dial up connection.
