Just a quick note to let you know that the highs during the day and night have really increased. We have had a few days over 100, as much as 107. That is still in our normal range at this time of the year. Our lows have been in the mid 50s also in our normal range. We could be harvesting Sauv Blanc by the end of the Month. We have stepped up the bottling of our 1999 zp2c to the third week in August and thus will enter it in the Harvest Fair. I have continued to try the 1999 wines and have been encouraged by how
they compare to the 1998s. The 1998s are of course more rounded and are
showing more jammy fruit at this stage. I'm going to try some 1997 wines
again, because I've thought they were similar to the way the 1998 wines
are tasting now. Remember I enjoy young wines, because of the way they
stand up to food. (BTW I am sitting about 220 lbs down 50 since my diet).
I will give further tasting notes, but briefly, the Aca Modot is coming
around and the Block 4 is round and fat, but the zin remains my favorite.
